Luis Miguel Soto (R.Ac) is a second-generation Acupuncturist and Practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He grew up in a family which introduced him to both Western and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
From an early age, Luis Miguel watched his Father, a Doctor and Surgeon who practiced in a busy multi-unit Hospital. His Father was passionate about expanding the boundaries of conventional medicine for patients. His father encouraged openness in research of new possibilities of improving patient healthcare. Luis Miguel also observed his Mother, a Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner. She addressed many health concerns which Western Medicine could not explain. Let alone, how patients found themselves better without conventional medication.
This combination of two schools of practice inspired Luis Miguel's ambition. An ambition to help those for whom standard conventional treatments have proved futile.
At the Toronto School of Traditional Medicine, Luis Miguel studied Acupuncture - graduating with a profound understanding of the principals, history, applications, and theory of Acupuncture. With this knowledge, he can treat an extensive variety of conditions including pain relief, male dysfunction, infertility, PMS, menstrual cycle regulation, constipation, diarrhoea, and digestive issues. He can also treat stress, anxiety, depression, headache, common cold, skin disorders, insomnia, and improve general well-being.
Luis Miguel also offers laser acupuncture treatment options for those hesitant of needles. Laser acupuncture uses laser stimulation on the same points of traditional Chinese medicine to treat a variety of diseases while improving the health and well-being of the patient. Since laser acupuncture is non-invasive, it also carries zero risks of infection or other complications in patients with a compromised immune system or bleeding disorders. Laser acupuncture is painless, and while some patients may feel a sensation of energy shifting in their body, the majority feel nothing at all.
Luis Miguel's knowledge of techniques and practices also expands to holistic methods such as traditional acupuncture methods, ear acupuncture, sooji Chim (Korean hand acupuncture), Korean SaAm (four needles acupuncture), balance method, dry needling, gua-sha, and cupping to treat a variety of conditions.
Luis Miguel is a member of the College of Traditional Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturist of Ontario (CTCMPAO).
